1 Corinthians 1:30 But by His doing you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption Have you ever noticed this?? Yesterday we mentioned this verse, but I believe we need to pay more attention to it. It is vital that we see that God does not just give us wisdom, but Jesus, Himself IS our wisdom. Wisdom is the God given ability to apply the truth of the Word of God to our daily lives. Oh how personal and practical is a life that truly possesses Christ through true salvation. One characteristic is a life that displays the wise leadership of Jesus Christ through that life, daily. IF Jesus really lives in a person, we will see the daily wisdom of God in that life. Secondly, this verse tells us that Jesus IS also our righteousness. Jesus is the One who gives us approval with God. Apart from Jesus Christ, no one can or ever will be pronounced right with God. Thirdly, Jesus IS our sanctification. Sanctification is that ongoing process that begins at salvation, whereby a true believer is being formed and shaped into the image of Christ. Now, this is the one that really got my attention yesterday and here is why; So many people falsely believe that they can just walk a church aisle and repeat a prayer and ZAP! They have their ticket to Heaven. Then, there is no interest nor indication whatsoever that his or her life is progressively being made and becoming more like the God they claim to be in an eternal relationship with. Here is the truth, a life void of biblical sanctification is a life void of Christ! I understand that we are not perfect and I understand that Christians grow at different rates, BUT ALL DO GROW OR MATURE, BECAUSE THE PRESENCE OF CHRIST GUARANTEES IT. Lastly, Jesus IS our redemption. To be redeemed is to be purchased, to be delivered, to be rescued. It is in and through Jesus Christ ALONE that we are delivered from and rescued from the penalty of sin eternally at salvation. It is through this same Jesus that we are delivered from the power of sin daily and it is through Jesus alone that we will one day be delivered eternally from the very presence of sin!!! Are you getting this??? The true believer's entire life from beginning to end, including ongoing growth and spiritual maturity is ALL IN CHRIST ALONE.
