Psalm 19:7-11 7 The law of the Lord is perfect, restoring the soul; The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple. 8 The precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes. 9 The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; The judgments of the Lord are true; they are righteous altogether. 10 They are more desirable than gold, yes, than much fine gold; Sweeter also than honey and the drippings of the honeycomb. 11 Moreover, by them Your servant is warned; In keeping them there is great reward. Statistics show that Bible sales were up significantly in 2024 over 2023. In particular, sales among the 18-26 yr. olds showed the greatest increase. That is good news, in and of itself. However, at the same time, churches and its leaders arguably are at their weakest. I desire to see us stepping up to meet these hungry souls with the truth of God’s Word. The great danger is, that if churches who will teach and practice the uncompromised truths of the Word of God do not increase, many of these hungry souls will turn to false religions to the detriment of their own lives. WE HAVE THE FOOD THEY NEED. In Psalm 19:7-11 we see different words like; The law of the Lord, the testimony of the Lord, the precepts of the Lord, the commandment of the Lord and the judgements of the Lord. ALL of these are simply descriptions of the content of the Bible, the Word of God. We need to understand that this Word is; v.7 Perfect- Without defect or blemish v.7 Sure- Trustworthy and enduring v.8 Right- Straight and just v.8 Pure- Crystal clear v.9 Clean- Ceremonially and morally pure v.9 True- Established and certain v.9 Righteous altogether- Only right and just There is NO OTHER book or teaching that has been tested and tried, examined and investigated more than the Word of God. It has and will stand the test of time. How can we be sure? Because, it is not just words about God, the Bible is the very breathed word OF God. So, my prayer and plea is that pastors and teachers and laymen alike stand in the local church and strap ourselves to this Holy, inspired, inerrant, infallible Word and preach it and teach it and practice it, leading those who are hungry to true food and water for their souls!! Today is the day! Now is the time!
