Revelation 4:11 “Worthy are You, our Lord and our God, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and because of Your will they existed, and were created.” Revelation 5:8-9 8 When He had taken the book, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each one holding a harp and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. 9 And they sang a new song, saying, “Worthy are You to take the book and to break its seals; for You were slain, and purchased for God with Your blood men from every tribe and tongue and people and nation.” Both of these passages are views of Heaven in the future. Both are expressions of praise to the Lord Jesus Christ. A closer look reveals the major difference between the two. (Revelation 4:11) shows us Jesus being worshipped as Creator of all that exists. Think of all of the beauties you have seen in your lifetime so far. I think of the Smoky Mountains where we live and how on a bright sunshiny day you can see the brightness of the sun shining on them, as well as the shadows of the trees. It is as if you can see exactly where God carved out each one with His own hand. It is breathtaking, especially in the Fall with all of the God chosen colors. I think of the vastness of the ocean when I stand on the beach and look as far as I possibly can and it’s still water. It always reminds me of the unending greatness and majesty of our God. I think of being in the middle of seemingly nowhere in the country of Namibia late at night. So far from civilization that the only lights I can see are the untold number of stars shining brightly in the sky. It reminds me that God created every one of them and gave each star a name! (Psalm 147:4). I could go on and on! You have your own thoughts of the greatness of God in creation. Well, one day in Heaven, we are going to gather around the throne of Jesus and worship Him as Creator. Reread (Revelation 4:11) and think about that coming moment. Then there is (Revelation 5:8-9) that shows us the coming moment when all of the created angels will step aside for a new song to be sung which ONLY the redeemed can sing! (v.9) And they sang a new song, saying, “Worthy are You to take the book and to break its seals; for You were slain, and purchased for God with Your blood men from every tribe and tongue and people and nation.” Wow! Now the attention turns from worshipping Jesus as Creator, to the redeemed worshipping Jesus as the Lamb of Calvary who died in our place and purchased us with His own blood! Brothers and sisters from every nation around the world will come together in one place, at the feet of Jesus and worship Him as our WONDERFUL SAVIOR. It reminds me of the words to a song from Casting Crowns; Oh, glory hallelujah to the Lamb that was slain I cannot hold it in You've given me a brand-new name, A song of my deliverance You've broken all my chains and I am free Oh, I have a song the angels can't sing!
